3st Congress

The third edition of the event showed, once again, CBL's commitment to developing the book business and meeting the great variety of market needs. Business model, technological aspects, consumer behavior and copyrights have been discussed under a new perspective. Furthermore, the addition of new competitors, new technologies, formats, equipment and a latent demand for more content require certain decisions that could not be postponed any longer.

The III CBL International Digital Book Congress presented the theme The New Content Production Chain - From Author to Reader, and took place on 10-11 May, 2012, at the Fecomercio Event Center in São Paulo, Brazil -- the same venue from the previous year.

In order to take on the new directions of this efervescent market, the III CBL International Digital Book Congress organized by the Brazilian Book Chamber featured lectures to foster the discussion:

2nd Congress

The 2nd International Congress of the CBL Digital Book was held on 26 and 27 July 2011, the Events Center Fecomércio in Sao Paulo / SP.

 

It was prepared a program where more than 20 national and international guests had the opportunity to present ideas, knowledge and references for a total of 18 hours of programming. With presentations and discussions and mediation of important personalities from the world of publishing and communications. Bob Stein, Joseph Craven, Dominique Raccah, Rochelle Grayson were some of the greats of the international event. The Brazilians were also highlighted in his lectures: Patricia Peck, Martha and Mark Gabriel da Veiga Pereira also had the preference of the public. With dynamic programming the 2nd Congress included the following topics:

1nd Congress


The 1st CBL International Congress of the Digital Book, held for the first time in 2010 in São Paulo, gathered representatives from the entire book chain to discuss relevant topics regarding the impact of the digital era on the Brazilian editorial market. Company directors and executives from all over Brazil attended this important event which happened in association with the Frankfurt Fair and the Imprensa Oficial do Estado de São Paulo. The event had great repercussion among the public – approximately 600 participants, including attendees, guests and the press participated in the event.


The 1st CBL International Congress of the Digital Book occurred jointly with the 36th National Meeting of Publishers and Booksellers, from March 29-31, 2010, at the Maksoud Plaza hotel, in São Paulo. It involved the whole book productive chain and also attracted the massive presence of the press.


In total, 20 speakers were invited, 8 of whom were from abroad and 12 Brazilians. Of the international speakers the public’s preferences were Pablo Arrieta, Patrícia Arancibia and Arantxa Mellado. Of the Brazilian speakers the highlights were Sergio Valente, Claudio de Moura e Castro, Fredric Michael Litto and Silvio Meira. The topics of their lectures were:
